CHINA TO EYE UP NZ?

Well they are certainly casting a glance across the Tasman. There are fears that the Chinese are going to increasing buy up mining stocks. According to the Australian some commentators are worried that not enough thinking is going into the ramifications of a big Chinese buy up.

We will also be in their sights. China is well aware of NZ's stable politics, easy business environment and high quality image so we should expect them to make some strategic purchases here as well.

Forestry, fishing, dairying, and infrastructure are likely to attract.

Have we thought about the implications of Chinese investment in Dairy Farms and Factories?
As far as land investment is concerned I wonder if it would be better to offer lease in perpetuity type arrangments to overseas investors where land is involved. Correct me if I am wrong but is not this what the Swiss do?
